Is
this right???
Independent
media is the sign of democratic states. Media is the fourth but most important
pillar of the country. It raises the silent voices to wake up the generation.
There are great responsibilities on the shoulder of media. But, what’s going in
Pakistan? As behalf of liberty and freedom, do Pakistani media do right?
As
we seen in last days, that media gave the extra coverage to cricketer Umar
Akmal’s wedding, from Nikkah to Valima. As well as told the prices of dresses,
shoes even the glass in which they drink milk as Rasam. On the other side, the
arrangements, the way of coming bride, the arrival of baraat leave a negative
impact on a common man. By watching this, everybody wants to arrange these
sorts of marriages. Every girl dreams to be a bride like this, and it’s really
impossible for everyone.
This
is not happened first time. Before this media did same with Shoaib Malik’s,
Aisam-ul-Haq’s and other high class weddings. This is not a royal wedding. It
did not need coverage like this. This is not good to show-off it publically,
especially in Pakistan where there are number of people are living under
poverty line and crime rate is high.
I
personally condemn this step of media. Pakistan is not a prosperous country.
Except few, no one can afford it. People are suffering from poverty. So, in
this situation, the high profile ceremonies are harmful for our society.
Do
you think so???
